5.00pm, Monday to Friday, for an hour. The current batch, labelled Series 17, started airing on 10 August 2026, going by TVmaze's episode list.
It's 5.00pm on the local clock in the other capitals too. yourTV's guides for Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin all list The Chase Australia at 5.00pm, because Seven's stations delay the feed to suit each city. Daylight saving, which started on Sunday 4 October in NSW, Victoria, SA, Tasmania and the ACT, changes the gap between cities, not the time on your own clock. How do I know if The Chase is new or a repeat?
Look at the series number. Seven mixes newer episodes with older ones through the week, and the guide listing is the only reliable way to tell them apart.
TVmaze's schedule for the show puts its regular new episodes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In the September week we checked, the guide agreed, with Thursday and Friday carrying repeats with older numbers; the split can change, so the dated box above has the current week's version.

The show rotates a bench of professional quizzers, each with a nickname. Seven's official YouTube channel has introduced several of them, including "The Smiling Assassin", "The Lightning Bolt" and "Professor".
Seven doesn't publish in advance which Chaser faces each team, so part of every episode is the reveal as the Chaser walks out.
How does The Chase work?
A team of four plays against one Chaser. Each player builds cash on a quick-fire round, then races the Chaser down a board to bank it; anyone caught is out.
That makes each episode different in how much suspense it carries. Some teams send four players to the Final Chase, others send one, and repeats follow exactly the same rules as new episodes.
Whoever makes it home plays the Final Chase together, setting a target the Chaser has two minutes to beat. We describe the format only and don't reproduce questions or answers from the show.
When did The Chase Australia's 2026 episodes start?
Early. TV Blackbox reported in January that new episodes would return from Monday 19 January at 5.00pm, with 7plus carrying them too. The current batch has been airing since 10 August, and TVmaze dates the previous one, Series 16, from that 19 January return.

On 7plus, once the episode is up. Seven's episode descriptions don't give away the result, and daily outcomes rarely make the TV news sites, so the episode itself is the record.
