Where to Watch Grey's Anatomy in Australia: All 22 Seasons and What It Costs

Grey's Anatomy streams in Australia on Disney+, a paid service with plans from $9.99 a month, and its last two seasons arrived there the day after each episode aired in the US. It isn't on Netflix here, and we couldn't confirm a free option.

Is Grey's Anatomy on Netflix, Stan or Binge in Australia?

No, it's a Disney+ title here. TV Blackbox reported on 3 December 2021 that all 18 seasons made to that point were "now streaming to Australian subscribers exclusively on Disney+", a library of 386 episodes at the time. WHO magazine's streaming guide from April 2025 says the same thing in plainer words: every episode is on Disney+.

The Netflix confusion comes from American coverage. What's on Netflix, which tracks that service's catalogue, says Grey's Anatomy sits on Netflix only in the United States and Canada, and that viewers in Australia are limited to Disney-owned services. So a US article telling you to wait for Netflix doesn't apply here.

It's a different picture from the other American imports we've covered. Saturday Night Live sits on Binge and The Challenge is a Paramount+ show, so one subscription won't cover all three.

How much does Disney+ cost in Australia?

Three plans, going by the prices shown on Disney+ Australia's own Grey's Anatomy page on Monday 5 October 2026. Standard with Ads is $9.99 a month. Standard is $17.99 a month or $179.99 a year, and Premium is $24.99 a month or $249.99 a year.

Every plan includes the whole show. What changes is the extras: Premium allows four simultaneous streams and up to 4K, while the two Standard tiers allow two streams at up to 1080p. Disney+ says its annual option saves 16 per cent against paying monthly. There's no annual price for the ad-supported tier on that page.

Our arithmetic on those figures: a 22-season catch-up at one season a month would cost $219.78 on the ad tier, against $179.99 for a year of ad-free Standard. If you're planning a long rewatch, the annual plan is the cheaper way in.

How far behind the US is Australia for new episodes?

For the past two seasons, about a day. What's On Disney Plus reported in September 2024 that Disney had announced season 21 would reach Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand on the same day it hit Hulu in the US, which is the day after the ABC broadcast. The same site reported the same arrangement for season 22 in October 2025.

That's a past pattern, not a promise. ABC's announcement for season 23 covers the US only: live on ABC on Thursdays at 10pm Eastern, then Hulu the next day. Disney+ Australia hasn't said whether season 23 follows suit, and its show page still describes the series as "2005 – 2025 • 22 Seasons".

When does Grey's Anatomy season 23 start?

In the US, Thursday 15 October 2026 at 10pm Eastern on ABC, per the network's season 23 announcement published on 1 October. Converted, that broadcast begins at 1pm AEDT on Friday 16 October for Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart, and at noon in Brisbane, which doesn't observe daylight saving.

That's the American broadcast time, not an Australian release time. Disney+ adds episodes after they've aired, and it hasn't published a season 23 date for Australia as of Monday 5 October. We'll update this page once it does.

Which seasons are on Disney+ Australia right now?

All of them up to season 22. The show page has a season menu running from 1 to 22, and season 22 lists 18 episodes, from "Only the Strong Survive" onwards. That matches the 18 episodes TVmaze lists for the season, so the most recent run is complete on the service.

The page credits Shonda Rhimes as creator and carries the drama, medical, procedural and soap opera genre tags. You don't need an account to check it: the episode list is visible to anyone who opens the page.

ABC names 13 returning cast members. They include Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr.
