Australian Quiz Results, 5–9 October: The Chase, Tipping Point and Hard Quiz

Monday 5 October was the first quiz night on daylight saving time, and the 5pm hour had two first-run shows in it. This page follows every weeknight from 5 to 9 October, slot by slot, and takes results and ratings as they're published. Anything we can't point to a source for stays marked not confirmed.

Quick answer:

Did anyone beat the Chaser on Monday?

Not confirmed as of Monday 5 October. Series 17 episode 14 aired at 5.00pm on Seven, and it's on 7plus if you'd like to see the Final Chase for yourself. Seven doesn't post outcomes, and Australian episodes tend to get written up days later by fans, if at all.

The same goes for Tipping Point's episode 126 on Nine, which is on 9Now. Who's been in the Chaser's seat this series is in our Chasers guide, and the Chase viewing guide has this week's new-or-repeat table.

Who was on Have You Been Paying Attention? on Monday?

TVmaze's listing for Season 14 episode 23 names Bill Bailey, Bron Lewis and Alex Ward alongside regulars Ed Kavalee and Sam Pang, with Tom Gleisner hosting and Bayley Hall as guest quizmaster. yourTV's Sydney guide has Celia Pacquola where TVmaze has Bron Lewis, so the two listings disagree on one desk. Read both as listings and not a report of what went to air.

The episode ran at 8.40pm on 10. The winner hasn't been reported anywhere we can cite. Slot details and catch-up are on our HYBPA page.

How did last week end at 5pm?

With a 100,000 gap. TV Central's table for Friday 2 October has Tipping Point Australia on a 672,000 national average for Nine and The Chase Australia on 572,000 for Seven. Reach was 1,279,000 against 1,130,000.

We haven't found a second outlet carrying Friday's 5pm figures, so that's one source. Every night of that week is on the 28 September results page.

Card listing Australian quiz shows for the week of 5 October 2026 and which episodes are confirmed as new
The week of 5 October as listed on Monday night. Two Series 17 Chase hours, then Series 16.

What's on Hard Quiz on Wednesday?

Series 11 episode 20 is in the ABC's 8.00pm slot on Wednesday 7 October. TVmaze lists the four expert subjects as insects, the Big Day Out festival, Grease and Doctor Who. The ABC doesn't publish who takes the Big Brass Mug, so we'll only name a winner if someone reports it.

When do the ratings come out?

The afternoon after each broadcast. Monday's overnight numbers are due on Tuesday 6 October, and Friday's arrive on Monday 12 October, which is when this page closes. We use a figure as settled when two outlets agree on it and say so when only one has it.

For the 10 shows, our Deal or No Deal and Hot Seat guide explains why the new-or-repeat flags are hard to trust. Nine's slightly early start is covered in the Tipping Point timing guide, and nightly rundowns sit under The Chase.
