Is The Chase new next week?
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, yes. IceTV has Series 17 episodes 9, 10 and 11 at 5.00pm on Seven, running an hour each. Thursday drops back to Series 16 episode 36 and Friday to Series 16 episode 87, both flagged as repeats.
That is the same Monday-to-Wednesday pattern the show has run since the Series 17 episodes started in August, and it is worth knowing before you set a recording for the whole week. Our Chase viewing guide has the slot and the catch-up detail, and Friday's line-up shows how the repeat nights look in practice.
Is Spicks and Specks finishing next week?
Yes. IceTV tags Wednesday's episode — Series 13, episode 12, listed at 8.33pm on ABC TV — as the final of the series. The run started on 8 July, so twelve episodes across eleven and a bit weeks.
The ABC has published the guest list: conductor Nicholas Buc, singer Becca Hatch, presenter Kath Ebbs and comedian Frank Woodley, with The Blitz Kids closing the show. Repeats follow on Thursday at 10.32am and Friday at 9.56pm, and ABC iview keeps the series after that.

What's on Hard Quiz on Wednesday?
The second Battle of the Fuddy Duds, at 8.00pm on ABC TV. Tom Gleeson brings back four returning retirees, and the ABC lists their specialist subjects as lawn bowls, Francis Bacon, Suzi Quatro and sewage.
One caution on the run itself: TVmaze has no Hard Quiz episode after Series 11 episode 18, the same as Spicks and Specks. The difference is that the guide flags the Spicks episode as a final and does not flag this one, so the safest reading is that the ABC has not filed the rest of Hard Quiz yet.
Is Have You Been Paying Attention? new on Monday?
New, at 8.40pm on 10. Season 14 episode 21, with episode 22 already listed for Monday 28 September, so the season keeps going past next week.
It is the only new quiz episode on 10 that the guide flags with any confidence next week, which makes Monday night the odd one out: a new Chase, a new Tipping Point and a new HYBPA in the same twelve hours.
Which nights are mostly repeats?
Thursday and Friday. The Chase and Tipping Point both fall back to older series from Thursday, and IceTV does not list a Tipping Point episode on Friday at all — Nine usually fills that slot with a repeat rather than leaving it empty.
Deal or No Deal and Millionaire Hot Seat are harder to call. The 6.30pm and 7.00pm slots run every weeknight, but the episode numbers in the guide jump around — Series 16 episode 183 on Monday, then episode 13 on Tuesday and episode 10 on Wednesday — so the new-or-repeat flags on 10's hour cannot be trusted a week out. The episode list on 10Play on the day is the reliable check. Our guide to 10's quiz hour explains how that block is put together.
How much quiz is actually on next Wednesday?
Six slots, and about three hours you could watch back to back. The Chase and Tipping Point clash head-on at 5.00pm, so pick one; then Deal or No Deal at 6.30pm, Hot Seat at 7.00pm, Hard Quiz at 8.00pm and Spicks and Specks from 8.33pm.
Run those end to end and you finish a few minutes after 9.00pm. No other night next week has more than five quiz slots, and Saturday and Sunday have none at all. For the week just gone, see who won across the shows, and our 14–20 September guide for the comparison.
Where can you catch up?
All free. The Chase sits on 7plus, Tipping Point on 9Now, Deal or No Deal and Hot Seat and HYBPA on 10Play, and Hard Quiz and Spicks and Specks on ABC iview. An account is the only cost on any of them.
Tipping Point's slot is the one people most often get wrong, since Nine lists it at 4.58pm some nights and 5.00pm on others — our Tipping Point times page covers that. The full nightly quiz archive has each evening in order, and if you also follow Nine's 7.30pm reality block, our sister site has The Block's nights and times.
FAQ
Are there quiz shows on the weekend?
No. The guide has no quiz listings on Saturday 26 or Sunday 27 September. The weeknight shows all return on Monday 28.
What time is The Chase in Adelaide and Perth?
Adelaide and Darwin run 30 minutes behind the eastern clock, so a 5.00pm AEST start is 4.30pm there. Perth is scheduled by Seven's local feed, so check the WA guide rather than subtracting two hours.
Will Spicks and Specks come back after the final?
The ABC has not announced a Series 14. Older series keep playing nightly on ABC Entertains and everything from this run stays on iview.
