Australian Quiz TV Next Week (28 September–4 October, 2026): Just Two New Chase Nights
Two new Chase hours instead of three, a Hard Quiz without its usual partner, and a season finish for Have You Been Paying Attention? on Monday. That's the shape of the first week back after last Friday's run of repeats and sport.
Short version:
- The Chase Australia is new on Monday and Tuesday only. Wednesday's hour comes from Series 16, and Thursday and Friday are repeats.
- Tipping Point has four first-run episodes, 122 to 125, from Monday to Thursday. Friday goes back to episode 45.
- Hard Quiz has a new episode on Wednesday at 8.00pm, but Spicks and Specks doesn't follow it. The ABC has a new comedy, Class Clowns, in that slot.

Is The Chase new next week?
On Monday and Tuesday, yes. yourTV and IceTV both list Series 17 episodes 12 and 13 at 5.00pm on Seven, an hour each, and neither tags them as repeats.
Wednesday is where it changes. Both guides have Series 16 episode 74 in the slot, and while neither marks it as a repeat, Series 16 already went to air earlier in 2026, so we'd treat it as an older hour. Thursday (episode 68) and Friday (episode 31) are both from Series 16 as well, and IceTV flags Thursday's as a repeat.
That breaks the Monday-to-Wednesday pattern the show has run since August. Last week had three new hours; this week has two. Our Chase viewing guide covers 7plus and the 5pm slot, and last week's planner has the three-night version for comparison.
What time is Tipping Point on next week?
5.00pm on Nine, give or take two minutes. yourTV starts Monday's episode at 4.58pm while IceTV has it at 5.00pm, so a recording set for 4.55pm covers both.
Episodes 122, 123, 124 and 125 run Monday to Thursday, all first-run on both guides. That's one more new night than The Chase gets. Friday is episode 45 of Series 3 from yourTV's listing, well behind the current numbering; IceTV hadn't filed a Friday episode when we checked. Is Hard Quiz on next Wednesday?
Yes, and it's new. Series 11 episode 19 goes out at 8.00pm on ABC TV (the ABC's own guide says 8.01pm) and on ABC iview. Tom Gleeson's four experts are on the last Romanovs, ADHD, Snow White and Lady Gaga.
Three guides agree on it: the ABC, yourTV and TVmaze. If you miss it, there's a repeat at 10.00am on Thursday on ABC TV and another at 8.30pm on Thursday on ABC Entertains. The weeknight 6.30pm Hard Quiz on ABC TV stays in place too, running older Series 10 episodes, and Friday's is a Series 3 hour.
Where has Spicks and Specks gone?
Off the Wednesday schedule. Series 13 ended last week with its twelfth episode, and nothing from the show is listed in the 8.30pm slot on 30 September. The ABC's guide has Class Clowns there instead, marked as Series 1 episode 1, with a repeat on Friday at 9.54pm.
Spicks hasn't vanished from the channels, though. ABC Entertains plays Series 10 at 7.00pm every weeknight: episode 1 with Casey Donovan and Rhys Nicholson on Monday, through to episode 5 with Hamish Blake and Vanessa Amorosi on Friday. TVmaze lists the show's status as "To Be Determined", and we haven't seen a Series 14 announced. How Series 13 ended is covered in our 23 September rundown.
Is Have You Been Paying Attention? new on Monday?
It is, at 8.40pm on 10. Season 14 episode 22 is in both TVmaze and yourTV, and TVmaze has 28 September as the season's end date, so this looks like the last new episode of 2026's run.
10 repeats it on Friday at 8.30pm. We haven't seen what fills the Monday slot from 5 October. The late start and 10Play catch-up are explained on our HYBPA page.
Monday's a crowded night elsewhere, with a new series of My Kitchen Rules starting on Seven at 7.30pm and Shaun Micallef's Parents' Evening premiering on 10 in the same half-hour, just before HYBPA.
Are Deal or No Deal and Hot Seat new next week?
Early in the week, probably. yourTV has Deal or No Deal on Series 3 episodes 28 and 9 on Monday and Tuesday without a repeat tag, then flags Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as repeats. IceTV lists the 6.30pm slot every weeknight but gives no episode detail, so for Deal we're relying on one guide.
Millionaire Hot Seat is messier. Both guides agree Wednesday (episode 86) and Friday are repeats and that Monday's episode 91 and Thursday's episode 154 aren't tagged either way. Tuesday is where they split: yourTV has episode 10, IceTV episode 172. 10Play on the day is the reliable check. Our guide to 10's early-evening quiz hour explains how the two shows fit together.
Will sport knock any quiz shows off next week?
Not on a weeknight, going by the guides as they stand. We read Seven, Nine and 10 from 4.30pm to 10pm on every night from Monday to Friday, and there's no live sport in that window on any of them.
That's a change from last Friday, when Nine went to an NRL preliminary final at 7.00pm and 10 had the Socceroos from 7.30pm. Friday's line-up has how that night played out. Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October aren't fully listed yet, and weekends carry no evening quiz slots anyway.
What changes when daylight saving starts on 4 October?
Nothing for this week's times. Clocks in NSW, Victoria, the ACT, Tasmania and South Australia go forward one hour at 2am on Sunday 4 October, after the last weeknight quiz slot of this week has gone out.
It matters more if you watch from New Zealand, which moved to daylight time on 27 September. Until Friday, a 5.00pm start in Sydney is 8.00pm in Auckland; from Monday 5 October it's 7.00pm. Queensland, the Northern Territory and WA don't change their clocks.

Which night has the most new quiz episodes?
Monday. The Chase, Tipping Point and HYBPA are all first-run, and Deal and Hot Seat carry no repeat tag. Tuesday comes close, minus HYBPA.
Is Spicks and Specks finished for the year?
Series 13 is done, and no new episode is listed for Wednesday. Older series keep running at 7.00pm on ABC Entertains, and the whole of Series 13 is on ABC iview.
